GYMNASIUM
In a unanimous vote at its November 2025 meeting, the Acalanes Union High School District Governing Board approved renaming Miramonte High School’s gymnasium the Sabrina Ionescu Gymnasium, honoring the Class of 2016 alumna who became one of women’s basketball’s most accomplished players, earning national collegiate honors, being selected No. 1 in the WNBA Draft, and winning both a WNBA Championship and Olympic gold. Alongside this recognition, the Miramonte community is launching a Gymnasium Modernization Campaign focused on upgrading the facility itself, which has long served as a central hub for athletics, school spirit, and community events, with nearly every student experiencing it as an athlete, performer, fan, or participant in school-wide gatherings, making it one of the most visible and heavily used spaces on campus year-round.

The Bill Brown Aquatic Center is the beloved home of thousands of students, including ten Olympic athletes (two swimmers and eight water polo players; three women and seven men); and an unmatched coaching staff including Drew Holland and Bill Brown.
